Objective:The objective of this study was to determine the efficacy and safety of sildenafil citrate (Viagra) at a concentration of 100 mg/L in the treatment of men with erectile dysfunction (ED).
Patients and methods:A total of 60 men with ED received sildenafil at 100 mg/L for 5 days, and 30 men received Viagra (100 mg) at 100 mg/L for 5 days.
Results:Viagra at 100 mg/L decreased the serum concentrations of sildenafil by 17.4%, which was statistically significantly greater than those of sildenafil at 100 mg/L (p < 0.001).
Conclusion:The sildenafil concentration was significantly lower than that of sildenafil at 100 mg/L in ED patients. The sildenafil concentration was increased significantly in ED patients with low serum concentrations.
